IAPH
Founded in 1955, the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) is a global alliance of ports, representing today over 200 ports in some 90 countries. The member ports all combined handle over 60% of the world's sea-borne trade and more significantly, nearly 90% of the world's container traffic. It is a non-profit-making and non-governmental organization (NGO) headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
As the only international association representing the world ports, IAPH is given a Consultative Status as NGO from the following UN agencies and inter-government organization.
IAPH membership chiefly consists of "Regular" (port authorities) and "Associate" (any individual or organization having an interest in ports). Today we have a total of 350 members represented from some 90 countries, which is broken down to 205 Regular and 145 Associate members.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was established on 2 February 1996, with the mission to develop Singapore as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre (IMC), and to advance and safeguard Singapore's strategic maritime interests. MPA is the driving force behind Singapore's port and maritime development, taking on the roles of Port Authority, Port Regulator, Port Planner, IMC Champion, and National Maritime Representative. MPA partners the industry and other agencies to enhance safety, security and environmental protection in our port waters, facilitate port operations and growth, expand the cluster of maritime ancillary services, and promote maritime R&D and manpower development.
